Here is a summary of the hang test.

Based on the good weather forecast, the hang test was prepared right after we arrived at the Willie Field at around 8:30 AM. After the CREAM instrument was hung under the BOSS launch vehicle with crush pads and ballasts, the instrument LPT was started at around 11:50 AM (NZT) / 10:50 PM (GMT). The test was finished at around 3 PM (NZT) / 2 AM (GMT). Then the instrument was turned off and the payload was dismounted from the vehicle. By the time when the instrument was moved back to the inside of the payload building, it was at around 4:10 PM (NZT) / 3:10 PM.

Here is a summary of CREAM-IV flight preparation status on the 28th of November at McMurdo.
  • Today's weather is condition 2 with no regular transportation to the Willie Field. A special bus to the LDB was arranged by David Sullivan and came to the Willie Field at 1 PM. Will return with the 5:30 PM bus.
  • An instrument LPT with a direct connection the the SFC1 was done by SangEun. It took about 1 hour 12 minutes.

Here is a summary of CREAM-IV flight preparation status on the 27th of November at McMurdo.
  • The weather briefing shows still that the weathers until Saturday are quite bad. There was no hang test today.
  • Next candidate is this coming Sunday (NZT) / Saturday (EST). Will have a weather briefing on Saturday night.
  • Muon data were taken in flight mode for about 5 hours after warming up of instrument. Will be uploaded  to the cdps3 tomorrow.

Here is a summary of CREAM-IV flight preparation status on the 26th of November at McMurdo.
  • The weather briefing shows still that the weather on Wed/Thur are windy. There was no hang test today.
  • There will be a weather briefing again at 8:30 AM tomorrow to see if we can have a hang test or not tomorrow. If we can not have a hang test tomorrow, the next one will be on Sunday (NZT) / Saturday (EST).
  • The weight of the payload was measured to be 3655 lbs which is consistent with what we have measured at CSBF.

Here is a summary of CREAM-IV flight preparation status on the 25th of November at McMurdo.
  • The CPT with the CDM completed today.
  • The remaining 3 power phases (maximum power, battery mode, battery charging mode) are done.
  • During the CPT, the instrument was in a flight mode. Everything went smoothly.
  • All solar panels are assembled into the payload. A photo of the instrument with solar panels is uploaded.
