Based on ACE chip (Caltech Design)
ACE – Advanced Composition Explorer launced August 25, 1997
Each ACE chip has 16 channels
Each channel has 2 trigger thresholds
Front-End Module (FEM) has 6 ACE chips
ASIC Control Logic Board (ACLB) handles up to 5 FEM Boards
Detector Interface Module (DIM) provides interface to Flight Computer
ACLB and DIM designed with Actel Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA)
Total Readout time is about 1 millisecond
