Right after I forwarded the e-mail, we had to evacuate the Willie Field due to a strong wind and ground snow blowing to the sky with a low visibility.
Now we are at the town and waiting for any further notice on the weather condition and possible return to the field.

Greetings All,
McMurdo Weather is forecasting deteriorating weather conditions throughout today, tonight and into tomorrow. It is possible that we’ll have winds in town in the 40 knot plus range and above 50 knots out on the Ice. Visibility could drop to less than ½ mile and in some known problem areas be zero. Weather conditions could begin to change as early as noon time today. This morning, please take the time to secure loose items about town before the storm arrives and be alert to the current weather conditions. Be prepared for Weather Condition 1 announcements for the ice shelf and snow road closings. If the snow roads do close, please do not venture out on the snow roads again until they are reopened. Above all, stay safe and do not take on any risky activities. One of the greatest hazards from storms is blowing debris.

- Details
- Opened the wooden crate for the first priority flight back to UMD after recovery. Two PSU gray crates, calorimeter recovery trays, recovery tool box, cable protectors and CD crate were un-packed. The wooden crate was put together and moved back to the sea container "C".
- All GSE crates were moved up to the 2nd floor (mezzanine) for a storage.
- Power and Ethernet cables were secured with cable protectors taken from the wooden crate.
- TCD debugging started with Tyler's advice to check with voltages from power connectors to each concentrators. All of them were measured and +3.3 V were looked rather low according to Tyler.
- Ping to all concentrators were tried but only some of them were connected.
- From the tests results requested by Tyler as in the above, in a phone call, he suggested to push all female power connectors' pins together suspecting the same problem with a loose connection as we had in CSBF this summer. So after tightening all pins in 12 connectors, we turned on the power and the TCD came back to work. Tyler is going to think about how to improve those connectors in the future.
- Took 50 k muon events as a part of LPT. Now the LPT is complete and everything is in the same condition as we had tested at CSBF before the shipment.
- The back up PC was scanned for possible internet connection to outside. It seems quiet fast and simple. We can use DHCP for network connection unless we are going to use a static IP address. Even for the static IP address, we can apply like we did in last season for two notebook PCs.
- Chris has been preparing the SIP module. And the batteries were checked. Expect to have the SIP power tested and used tomorrow afternoon for the instrument.
- Fritz has been working on solar panels and the mezzanine organization for a storage space after the unpacking works.
- Moved to new rooms in the dorm 203C after returning to the town.
- CD HV conversion factor calibration. (Thu. AM 2 hours)
- Replace CAL spar boards and debug the noise issue. (Thu.)
- CAL trigger test. (Replace one ASIC chip which showed as dead trigger channels at CSBF before the shipping) (Thu.)
- Safe-to-mate with SIP power. (Thu.)
- TCD/CD housekeeping data long-term stability check. (Thu. - Sat.)
- CPT (Fri.-Sat.)
- Connection test with SOC. (Sat.)

We have arrived at McMurdo station safely after about 5 and half hours of flight with more than 120 peoples.
After a briefing, a temporary dorm room was assigned until we can move to the building 203 in near future.
According to David Sullivan, we will have a commute bus at 7:30 AM.
Before we get our notebook computers scanned for security patches, sometime tomorrow, we would have limited internet access.

CREAM-V hang test at CSBF is over
- Details
The hang test for the CREAM-V has completed. Please find the attached log file for details. I will post an update version of complete CSBF integration log file on the black board.
It was started from 5:30 AM (EDT) and finished at 1:00 PM (EDT). Data flow and commanding from the UMD SOC was done also.
After the payload returns to the high bay, the weight without rotator was measured to be 3690 lbs. It is comparable with the last year's 3655 lbs.
Now the payload is in LOS mode and started muon run in flight mode. Will have a long term muon run during weekend together with some remaining works like hsk box test.
On Monday, TDRSS connection run will be done. On Tuesday, the instrument will be packed into a sea container. The same for the GSE crates.
We would like to thank a lot for the supports of all the members who worked hard for this integration possible and successful.

CSBF report July 21st 2009
- Details
Here are progresses done from last Saturday to today at CSBF related with the CREAM-V integration. (There have been network problems in the CSBF from Monday so we can not check or send e-mails during work hours at the CSBF until we come back to Hotel late night.)
- Installations of heat pipes for the SCD and Chercam including heat dissipation panels were completed by Fritz and Scott.
- Four side foam walls were prepared and 3 of them have been installed today by Fritz.
- With the new IDE cables brought from UMD, all of IDE cables in both SFC1 and 2 were replaced by Hoseok.
- The instrument CPT with SFC1 via Ethernet connection has completed this afternoon except the Master Trigger board test which requires preparation of another MT board. It will be done as soon as time found. The data and plots will be copied to the cdps3 manually as soon as the network recovered. They look the same as what we saw at UMD.
- During the CPT, we found that the trigger cable to the CAL sparsification board is too tall to fit between the board and the upper box and causing noisy data as reported by SangEun before. Another cable without a plastic sleeve will be used for the board.
- The SFC2 is being prepared for the LPT tonight. The remaining LPT will be done tomorrow.
- The power cable from the SIP was prepared by refurbishing the flight cable for the CREAM-IV by Chris and Joseph. It is tested as good to fly and have additional pins(1&2) connected for the existing TCD power (4&5) for higher current.
- The thermistor cable for the CREAM-IV flight also retested and found to be good to fly.
- The lengths of power/thermistors/heaters cables were measured and given to Chris for productions. But only the one for the heaters will be used for the production since the others are available already as explained in the above.
- SIP integration planned tomorrow. First the SIP without the power will be connected and tested to make sure that it is working with the instrument. After that, the power will be connected to the instrument and the integrated CREAM-V will be tested.
- Remaining LPT with the SFC2 will continue.
- Remaining CPT of the MT part will be continue.
- HSK board check for the old problem with the Chercam channels and new issues with TCD/CD HV channels. There was a report by Tyler on a drifting of HSK values for two TCD HV channels even though those two channels did not drift when were connected to another good HSK channels for a few hours.
- Live time ratio measurement with the SIP configuration. The ratio has improved after a debugging work. But it was not as the same or stable as the CDM configuraiton of about 90% with the 20Hz trigger rate. This is the critical issue whether we can fly in the SIP configuration or not assuming that the other SIP integrations working fine.
