Dear,

Here is a summary of CREAM-IV flight preparation status on the 27th of November at McMurdo.

  • The weather briefing shows still that the weathers until Saturday are quite bad. There was no hang test today.
  • Next candidate is this coming Sunday (NZT) / Saturday (EST). Will have a weather briefing on Saturday night.
  • Muon data were taken in flight mode for about 5 hours after warming up of instrument. Will be uploaded  to the cdps3 tomorrow.

  • JiHye analyzed peak hold delay scan data for CAL/tSCD/bSCD taken during the CPT and uploaded on the CREAM-IV black board.
  • CAL and bSCD data look good as before. The top SCD results show that those channels with zero gains have zero gains near the peak hold positions. But at lower and higher hold values, they have good gain values. It means that those channels are not dead but something with electronics related with delay values. This could be a clue where to look for checking the zero gain problem.
  • Antje's problem with the tSCD data, having 0 ADC values and very high channel # above 2944, still pending. But for the moment, asked her to not to use those channels with zero ADC values and higher channel #. JiHye used the same data file for the SCD analysis but see no problem maybe the code does not read 0 value and higher than 2944 channel #.
  • Tomorrow, will have the followings if we can go to the Willie Field.
    • Upload muon data taken today to the cdps3.
    • Practice of LPT runs to have the launch preparation time as short as possible.
    • Summarize the CPT/LPT logs and results and upload on the black board.
    • Make a top SCD report.
    • Investigation of the top SCD problem.

Cheers, MooHyun.
