Dear,

Here is a summary of CREAM-IV flight preparation status on the 26th of November at McMurdo.

  • The weather briefing shows still that the weather on Wed/Thur are windy. There was no hang test today.
  • There will be a weather briefing again at 8:30 AM tomorrow to see if we can have a hang test or not tomorrow. If we can not have a hang test tomorrow, the next one will be on Sunday (NZT) / Saturday (EST).
  • The weight of the payload was measured to be 3655 lbs which is consistent with what we have measured at CSBF.

  • Debugging of the new TCD script was tried in the morning. In a direct connection to the SFC1, by sending the script into two smaller scripts, the scripts went through smoothly with only one reset per script compared with 8 resets for the single script. Will test with the CDM connected for confirmation.
  • Parameter file uploading explained by Prashant to SangEun.
  • The instrument CPT data and muon run data were uploaded into cdps3:/data/cream directory for the analysis at SOC.
  • JiHye has looked at the top and bottom SCD muon data and show no sign of dead channels as seen in the charge gain run.
  • Antje reported some bad data with unreasonably very high ch. number from the top SCD in a 50 k event muon run. Will see if there are any correlation with the gain run problem.
  • A backup notebook PC for the power GSE has been scanned for the network security after borrowing a new AC power adapter. We need a new AC adapter for this notebook PC when we have this back to UMD. The model # is DELL Latitude D610. This PC has to be used as my work PC as far as the power GSE notebook PC is OK since my notebook PC (Toshiba satellite A70) is so extremely unstable that I can use it. It hung up very often recently. It seems a  few different problems from what I had before. Brian cleaned up the heat sink and re-soldered the power adapter connector and was OK for a while.

Cheers, MooHyun.
