Dear colleagues,

We have finished LPT of the CREAM-IV this afternoon and are going to have a long muon run in flight mode over night. It was a lot of works done compared with usual works at WFF.
Here is a summary of today's actvities.

  • Registration at the visitor center.
  • Un-packing of 2 gray crates for GSE setup.
  • Un-loading of the CREAM-IV instrument from the sea container back to the high bay.
  • Turn-on SFC1. It turned out that there was an disk check message maybe due to the fact that the 2nd disk was removed. After checking the disk, it is OK.
  • A SIP simulator was prepared for SangEun by Joseph. They are still investigating where the SIP simulator, which supposed to be sent to UMD 2 weeks ago, went by asking FedEx. Amazing story is that the size of box has changed to a smaller box in the FedEx record. So FedEx is also not that safe, I guess.
  • Inventory of electronics boards (CREAM-IV and spares) are checked and confirmed at CSBF. The file sent to SangKyo to update it after confirming.
  • LPT was done w/o any problems except the two issues.
    • LED run in calorimeter showed noise increases due to light leaks from strong lights in the bay. Covered with a black cloth and they disappeared. Will do final shielding with black tapes in the middle sections in a manner that the tapes can be removed easily in the recovery procedure.
    • Housekeeping data (HV values) in Chercam were not within green range, which were the case for a while even at UMD. They were OK a month ago when the Chercam integration was over. Asked Chercam group to check the muon data.
  • An overnight muon run in flight mode will be started before going back to sleep.

Here things to do until next Tuesday when Dave comes here.

  • TCD CPT of all detectors.
  • mxr debugging. (TCD)
  • S3 tuning. (TCD)
  • CD housekeeping conversion factor in the housekeeping table. (CD)
  • CDAQ remaining works. (Prashant)
  • Power cables for CDM. (Larry)
  • etc...

Please let us know if you have any questions/comments/suggestions.

Cheers, MooHyun.
