CREAM Flight 2010
[ICE] Legs Installed, Nov. 6th 2010
- Details
The briefing lady introduced each room's function and how to utilize the lab.
We got the 112 rm (Crary Lab) keys from Scott.
We all moved to Willy Field with a Van after that.
David told us there would be instrument computer scan by a IT person in the afternoon.
We prepared cable connections, checking CDAQ on each computer and Power GSE software.
IT computer scanning guy came to the payload 1 building and checked the main computers.
Robin installed CREAM legs in the afternoon.
(Attached please find the CREAM-VI with having installed legs)
We connected to our Power GSE and ethernet to the client computer (direct connection).
We did a simple LPT with CAL, SCD (Ji Hye will report the results).
According to a test run, one channel in CAL, and several channels in SCD looked having bad connections.
We turned off all powers around 5:20pm to return to the base.
We will continue LPT tomorrow.
Today it was windy/cold/cloudy in the morning but became warm/carlm in the late afternoon.

- Details
We got scan our laptop computers at Crary Lab
and went to Willy Field in the morning.
CREAM-VI crate was inside the Payload 1 building
and the other crates were outside the building.
CSBF people opened the crates and put them all inside.
CREAM-VI looked OK by eye inspecting.
We did not turn on the computes because they were freezed.
We will connect cables and test instruments tomorrow.
We have to see Scott to get briefing of Crary Lab just after breakfast tomorrow.
Today, it was clear, but cold and windy at Willy Field.

CREAM-VI CERN BT summary, Sep. 24th 2009
- Details
All crews arrived at CERN safely and started user registrations from around 9 AM. Here are things done today.
- User registration of all members.
- Received access cards and rental car stickers.
- Registration of all new notebook computers by Sasha. So people can read and write e-mails.
- Radiation badges were issued only to those who came first time this year (KiChun, JiHye, and David).
- The remaining three (SangEun, Hoseok and myself) could not receive them due to a rule that requires medical justification letter as a radiation work from each primary care physician and a radiation safety training. After many hours of phone calls and explanations by Sasha, we could finally got those letters at the medical center thanks to the ICE PQ status available on the web. The doctor at the center was familiar with the PQ procedure and gave us the medical form signed. In the late afternoon, Sasha managed to re-contact with the radiation safety head and got some hopeful answer on a possibility of receiving the badge tomorrow morning even though the safety training is only doable on Monday 1:30 PM and has been reserved.
- Those three with badges went to the CERN-2 to open the crate and do a DAQ setup. With Sasha and two riggers' helps, the instrument crate was opened and two DAQ PCs were turned on and tested OK.
- The pallet will be integrated into the turn-over fixture.
- The CDAQ setup will be connected fully including 28 V PS.
- The calorimeter HPD front panel plate will be loosened on +X & -X sides.
- Put tedlar sheets on each HPD boxes with tapes for light shielding.
- Turn HV to 2000 DAC count level (~ 6 kV) and do a LPT.
- Increase HV values slowly to 2500, 3000, 3500 by ramping up slowly.
- Replace the ASIC chips in those boards with dead channels. (3 chips at the moment)
- Borrow electronics from the E-pool and move to the staging area. (Sasha)
- Assuming that remaining three can get the badges the followings will be done.
- Replace the calibration board and check the LED data.
- Cookie alignment.
- Light shielding between HPD front panels and boxes.
- The followings are for the TRD-II readout.
- Move TRD-II EB board and other boards for the TRD-II readout test setup to the clean room. (SangEun, MooHyun)
- Preparing a pulse generator at the clean room. (Sasha)
- Try a new firmware for the TRD-II EB board from Larry. (SangEun)
- Discuss on the status of the CDAQ on TRD-II EB board readout. (Nail, SangEun, MooHyun, Larry?)
Best, MooHyun
